Mothman (Creature Concept)

"A dark shape emerged out of the smoke and passed over our heads as we tried to contain the fire."

This initially started off as an entry for Creatuanary2023, I decided to develop the Mothman sketches further. I had an idea in mind for a photo-composite piece in a 'found footage horror' style. The Mothman is known for (allegedly) being sighted at the scene of a tragedy so I decided that an uncontrolled forest fire would be a fitting addition to the mythos.
